NZXT is bringing back the S Series with two new entry-level panoramic cases: the S5 RGB and the S5 RGB Deluxe. Both models use the same steel chassis, dual tempered-glass layout and internal clearances, but the Deluxe adds two fans for a more complete cooling setup out of the box.
Frank’s Bench has already built a full system inside the standard S5 RGB. NZXT provided that review sample, but we have not physically tested the S5 RGB Deluxe. Its additional features are described from NZXT’s official launch information and product images.

The return of NZXT’s entry-level S Series
The revived S Series is positioned as a more affordable entry point into NZXT’s case range. The company keeps several features associated with its more expensive models, including a steel structure, front and left tempered-glass panels, modern USB-C connectivity and enough clearance for anything from a first build to high-end hardware.
The standard S5 RGB comes with a single 360 mm side frame containing three 120 mm reverse RGB fans. The blades face the glass, keeping the clean side of each fan visible instead of the rear motor supports.

What changes with the S5 RGB Deluxe?
The S5 RGB Deluxe does not use a different chassis. Dimensions, materials, front I/O and internal clearances are unchanged, but NZXT adds two individual 120 mm fans:
- A reverse RGB fan in the angled bottom mount, aimed toward the graphics-card area.
- A conventional RGB fan at the rear, intended for exhaust.
That means the standard version contains three physical fans inside the side frame, while the Deluxe increases the total to five. This is the main practical difference between the two models and the clearest reason to consider the higher-priced version.

S5 RGB vs S5 RGB Deluxe
| Feature | S5 RGB | S5 RGB Deluxe |
|---|---|---|
| Chassis | Steel and dual glass | Same chassis |
| Side fans | 3 × 120 mm reverse RGB | 3 × 120 mm reverse RGB |
| Rear fan | Not included | 1 × 120 mm RGB |
| Angled bottom fan | Not included | 1 × 120 mm reverse RGB |
| Total physical fans | 3 | 5 |
| Weight | 6.14 kg | 6.44 kg |
| Recommended price | $59.90 | $69.90 |
Shared specifications
Because both versions use the same chassis, their core hardware support is identical:
Shared specifications

What our standard S5 RGB review already confirmed
We have already completed a full build in the standard S5 RGB. Paint quality and panel fit were better than expected at this price point. The steel is thinner than it is on higher-end NZXT cases such as the H6 and H9, but the chassis still feels suitably rigid rather than flimsy.
A 360 mm liquid cooler and a large graphics card fitted without difficulty. Hardware support is one of the strongest parts of the design, with up to 415 mm of GPU clearance and positions for as many as ten fans.
The compromises appear elsewhere. Dust filters are basic, physical storage is limited to one 2.5-inch and one 3.5-inch drive, and cable management is not as convenient as it is in a dual-chamber case. The standard version also leaves the rear and bottom fan positions empty, which are exactly the two areas populated by the Deluxe.
Editorial disclosure
Frank’s Bench has physically tested the standard S5 RGB. Information about the S5 RGB Deluxe is based on NZXT’s official announcement and product images.
Pricing and availability
The NZXT S5 RGB starts at $59.90, while the S5 RGB Deluxe is priced at $69.90. For ten dollars more, the Deluxe adds the rear exhaust and angled bottom intake, making it especially relevant for buyers who were already planning to complete those fan positions.
NZXT says both versions will reach authorised retailers worldwide in the weeks following the announcement. White and black finishes will be available.
Which version makes more sense?
The standard S5 RGB preserves the family’s key appeal: panoramic styling, three included reverse RGB fans, modern connectivity and substantial hardware clearance at a low starting price.
The Deluxe is the more complete option from day one. If you already intended to add a rear exhaust fan and use the angled GPU intake, the extra ten dollars may be simpler and potentially better value than buying those fans separately.
